Konstrukcja „There is/there are” oznacza „jest, znajduje się i są/znajdują się”. Używamy jej, gdy chce się wskazać, gdzie znajduje się dany przedmiot lub osoba.

There isn’t (=is not) a navy blue suit in the store. W sklepie nie ma granatowego garnituru. | There aren’t any leather shoes under the sink. Nie ma żadnych skórzanych butów pod umywalką. |
There isn’t a cinema next to my block of flats. Obok mojego bloku nie ma kina. | There aren’t any interesting movies on TV tonight. Dzisiaj wieczorem nie ma ciekawych filmów w telewizji. |
